Purpose

• To provide guidelines for the ordering, preparation, labeling, dispensing and administration of medications

Policy

• Medications ordered, prepared, labeled, dispensed, and administered by Westside employed and contracted staff are completed through an effective and safe medication management system.
• Only Westside employed or contracted Licensed Independent Practitioners are permitted to order medications.
• All medications orders are documented in the Electronic Medical Record and processed via the electronic medical record (e-scribe), unless otherwise indicated.
