1. What does HR do?
HR handles the full life cycle of employees from hiring to the end of employment. This includes:
• Benefits administration - day-to-day administration of the company benefits, including leave and disability administration, workers comp, 401k, life insurance, medical, dental, vision, and any supplemental insurances provided; coordinates enrollments, including annual open enrollment, special enrollments, new employee enrollments;
• Recruiting – posting jobs, interviewing candidates, attending job fairs, making presentations at/for schools
• Performance management – assist managers with employee performance issues, make recommendations on corrective actions, manage the Quarterly Check-Ins and annual reviews
• Personnel information management – keeping the HR database (Paylocity) up to date and entering all the changes accurately and timely
• Policy development and compliance – ensure compliance with all current policies and procedures, develop and update policies as needed, update the employee Handbook as needed, answer questions regarding policies
What are the healthcare benefits available to me as an employee?
Healthcare benefits are available to all employees working a minimum of 30 hours per week, regardless of their full-time or part-time status. These benefits include the choice between two medical plans, dental, vision, life insurance, short and long-term disability, and multiple supplemental programs. Starting in January 2026, Delaware-based employees working a minimum of 24 hours per week will be eligible for a paid leave of absence for the care of a newborn, care for a family member, and to address their serious health condition. Some benefits like our discount program on auto, home, and renter’s insurance and student loan refinancing assistance are available to all employees regardless of the number of weekly work hours. Each of these benefits has different waiting periods and different costs so it’s best to contact HR for more information.

presentation, a discount program, and even a fun interactive benefits decision-making tool called Alex.Does Westside have a 401(k) plan?
Yes! We have an outstanding 401(k) plan that allows you to enroll on your very first day at Westside. There is no waiting period, we have a robust
selection of investments and you can transfer any old 401(k) plan balances from other employers into our plan. We also have a very generous company
match that starts after 6 months of employment and it provides a 100% match on your first 3% of contributions than 50% from 4%-5% of your
contributions. It’s a 4% match on 5% of your deductions.What is PTO:
PTO is short for Paid Time Off and it encompasses all types of time off like vacation, physical/emotional illness, injury, personal or family needs,
bereavement more. All of this time off is combined into a single type of paid time off called PTO. You are eligible for PTO if you regularly work 20 or
more hours per week. Your PTO will accrue on a pay-period-by-pay-period basis throughout the calendar year as long as you are actively working. Your
PTO accrual rate is based on several factors like your date of hire, length of service, number of hours worked per week, and job type.Refer to the Employee Handbook for details.
What are Westside’s Paid Holidays?
Westside offices are closed on the following holidays: (Please note: Westside reserves the right to change the holiday schedule, based on business

Generally, holidays falling on Saturday will be observed on the preceding Friday, and holidays falling on Sunday will be observed on the following Monday. When Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve fall on a weekday, Westside will close at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m., respectively, on those days.
What if I get hurt at work?
Our employees are our greatest asset and we take safety in our workplace very seriously. Should you be hurt on the job it’s imperative that you notify
your manager immediately. An injury report will be completed along with an accident investigation. Should you need medical care, and based on the
severity, you will be directed by your manager where to go.Can I apply for open positions within Westside?
Yes! We encourage you to review our open job opportunities on the Careers page on our internet. The page is updated continuously and has the latest and
most up-to-date information on open positions. To apply, you must be in your current position for a minimum of 6 months and be in good standing with
no active disciplinary action. You are also encouraged to refer a friend or family member to open positions with referral bonuses provided for certain
positions.I have been in a car accident and am unable to work. What do I do? Will I lose my job?
Contact your supervisor as soon as you are able. Then contact HR. You may be entitled to a leave of absence and you may be entitled to pay under our
disability coverage. Human Resources will be able to guide you through the process.I need to take care of my sick father. Is there any way I can keep my job or do I have to quit?
Yes! Contact HR as soon as possible. You may be entitled to a leave of absence, reduced schedule leave, or intermittent leave and you may be entitled to
pay under our paid leave coverage. Human Resources will be able to guide you through the process.I just lost coverage through Medicaid. Can I get Westside’s benefits?
Yes! You can enroll in Westside Benefits within 30 days of the loss of coverage. It is best to contact HR as soon as you receive notification to ensure you
do not lose coverage for any length of time.Human Resources will set up a special enrollment for you. You will then need to go online to the benefits portal and enroll in the coverages you
need/want.
