Breastfeeding Peer Counselors can:
Provide prenatal and postpartum consultations to assist patients with breastfeeding techniques and education
Help patients obtain breastfeeding supplies such as pumps, nursing pads, creams, etc.
Offer prenatal and parenting education classes
Assist patients in enrolling in WIC services

How do I contact a Breastfeeding Peer Counselor (BPC)?
You can message the Breastfeeding Peer Counselors Pools (by site) in the EHR or contact the BPCs via Teams.
Is there a fee associated with services or classes from the Breastfeeding Peer Counselors?
No, all support services provided by Breastfeeding Peer Counselors are free to all Westside patients and community members.
Can Breastfeeding Peer Counselors assist patients in obtaining a pump?
Yes, BPCs can help patients receive a pump through their insurance or help obtain a pump or other items needed for patients without insurance.
Is there space at Westside offices for patients to breastfeed or employees to pump?
Yes, Westside has breastfeeding friendly space at all sites for patients and staff to nurse or pump in a clean, comfortable environment.
